              CAFE DE L’ AMBRE

Café de L’ambre is kissaten (coffeehouse) just off the main drag in Ginza. Since 1948 this dark and quiet
cafe has been pushing the limits of coffee. It’s a place stuck out of time. A place that serves 40 year old cof-
fee prepared meticulously. Its owner, Sekiguchi Ichiro is over one-hundred years-old. We were lucky to see
him there. Even though the interior of the place gives you retro vibes: dim light, red wood and red flannel
seats, coffee in cocktail glasses, the place is still far from being ‘old-fashioned’.
Coffee we tried, “Queen amber”, combines tastes of coffee and condensed milk perfectly. The sweet
feeling is obvious, but not abrupt. The coffee is mixed this way that its sweetness melts on your tongue,
leaving a bit of salty taste.

                                     Sensoji temple & kimono experience

Sensoji temple is one of Tokyo’s most ancient temples, the whole place
is an open area, it is not big, but has a lot of things to do. It is the largest
touristic area, so there will be no problem to find a souvenir or two in
one of the numerous touristic shops here.
Moreover, Sensoji is great for a walk, while gazing at surrounding
architecture or you can take a minute and pray in the temple itself.
Last but not least, there are a lot of kimono stores around
Sensoji temple, where you can try on or even rent a kimono. The
rent is up to six hours, which will give you a lot of time to even
travel around the city in the costume to take memorable pictures.
Shops have a big variety of kimonos in every color and pattern,
so at first it is hard to choose.
