Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room (www.roastery.starbucks.com)
The entrance experience is grand. Then you are intrigued by the conveyer system and the roasting machines.
It’s definitely not your typical Starbucks. I’d say, “This is the Willy Wonka factory of Starbucks.” Once inside the
Roastery, I was like wow! I really liked the industrial copper decor and all the tanks and pipes that are apparently all
in use! Even when you go to the bathroom and look through the window above the sinks, you can see all the coffee
beans and bags. I also really appreciate and was so wow by the ticker board which would change every few seconds
and disclose which coffees they were serving that day. For the extra special treatment, head downstairs to the tasting
room. The staff is so knowledgable and clearly have a passion for coffee. For foods, there is the excellent Serious Pie,
but with upgraded full bar (good selection of beers, of course). The pastries, essentially for both coffee appreciation
and desserts for meals, are also made by Serious Pie bakery. This was such a great experience and definitely one of
the highlights from our Seattle trip.
