HEART (www.heartroasters.com)
With the big roaster right in the shop, you can
either love it or hate it. It is suitable for a cold day, where
you want to stay in somewhere warm with toasting smell
of coffee roasting. It certainly seems to inspire both the
most devout followers and loudest complainers of any
roaster in the city. There always seems to be a number of
obscure brewers on the shelves, and true to its Scandinavian
roots, Heart is a big proponent of the Aeropress—a plastic
brewer that looks like a medical device but makes a super
clean cup and is an excellent way to sample those bright,
fruity roasts. Grab some interesting blends of coffee here,
while enjoy watching the roasters concentrating with his
headphones on the spot - labeled “do not disturb”!
Case Study Coffee (www.casestudycoffee.com)
It has the location. It has the vibe. It’s exactly the type of place you imagine
when someone mentions working from a cool, downtown coffee shop with the added
bonus of delicious coffee, tea and pastries. Pour-ver coffee is also available, also a solid
latte was served - very light espresso with hints of fruit, they also offered many differ-
ent milk like Almond, Hemp, Vanilla and many more interesting flavored milk. Staff is
ultra friendly and knowledgable, as well
as very quick in fulfilling orders, which is
impressive in such a busy cafe. Huge range
of coffee making products and also heaps
of vega and gluten-free offerings menus.
This place was cute and simple and the
drinks were extremely well made.
Coffeehouse Northwest (www.sterling.coffee)
First of all, we loved the interior and raw to earth about this place. The
wood floors. This is the type of place you would find atmosphere is perfect, whether
in romantic scenes in movies, as much as I love to to study, chat with friends, or
dream, this place is for real. Bottom line, great cof- simply watch the world passing
fee, great service, something very rustic and down by on the street. Talking about the
drinks, the dark chocolate mocha
here is made with more than half
of Bolvian chocolate, and it truly
is one of the best mochas I have
had. They also recommended the
maple scone. Oh boy did it hit the
spot. I sat down and enjoy with the
German orchestra music played
in the background. Very home
oriented with a dash of urban
flare. It’s really pretty simple why
Coffeehouse Northwest needs to
be a part of a flavorful experiences
in Portland.
