W hat is your impression of Chinese Generation Z? ACGN, wild,
cute and harmless or sensitive and vulnerable? Coming into
2018, the early Gen Z kids have become adults. But in the coffee
industry, the last few years have seen more and more of the
little ones budding. A group of young Baristas has attracted people’s attention
in March during Hotelex expo in Shanghai, the biggest and most influential
coffee event in China. They were from KCCW Coffee Institution in Langfang,
a small town near Beijing, and they were this year’s youngest exhibitors with
an average age of just 10 years old. Even though they are surely not the most
experienced Baristas because the only time they can learn is after school, their
performance during the exhibition was absolutely amazing. They were enthu-
siastically chatting with visitors about everything from coffee roasting to choice
