Coffee Family Tree by Cafe Imports

          Types of Coffee:
As seen on the coffee family tree, there are manyvarietals
of Arabica coffee; each with their own flavor profile. With the
Arabica (Ethiopian) has three main varietals which are: Ethio-
pia/Sudan Accessions (Mixed Heirloom), Typica, and Bourbon.
To be more progressive about the coffee taste profile, an in depth
look into the varietals is critical as each results in its unique
profile. Arabica varietals are often named after the areas in
which they were identified, so are known by many local names
and spellings - for example, the Geisha variety is also known as
Gesha or Abyssinian which is in the Northern Ethopia. Some of
the Arabicas are also named from varietals relation like Paca-
          mara, from Pacas and Maragogype.
          Few Well-known varietals:

Gesha (popularly spelled “Geisha”) has become the latest Although, respected in coffee circles a geisha is no guaran-
favorite for its uniquely over - the - top flavor and aroma. Started tee of quality although when it is right, it has potential to be very
off in South Western Ethiopia in the tiny town of Gesha, this amazing. The so - called “baby geisha” of younger than 10 years
varietal was introduced to Costa Rica in the 1950s, eventually would taste different than the older one.
