Green bean consumption statistic below shows USA as
the biggest coffee consumer in the world, followed the biggest
coffee producer in the world, Brazil. Interestingly, Japan comes
4th with over 7 millions bags consumed per year.

Most of Japan’s coffee imports are from Brazil, followed
by Vietnam and Colombia. Generally, coffee beans from Brazil
are natural process Arabica while Vietnamese coffee beans
are robusta and Colombian coffee beans are washed process
Arabica. A small amount of coffee from Thailand, particularly
coffee beans from Chiangmai and Chiangrai, is also imported
into Japan.
