                                                                         I feel that as a professional barista, the most
             4th place on 2016 World Brewers Cup, 2nd prize of Asia
             Barista Championship                                    important thing to focus on for this career is caring
                                                                     about your customer. A barista needs to be able to
                                                                     give the customer the best experience that they
                                                                     can; a good cup of coffee, delicious food, a high
                                                                     standard of customer service. I treat my career as
                                                                     a barista like how one would if they ran a fine din-
                                                                     ing restaurant. It’s about delivering a service, a full
                                                                     package of what specialty coffee is about, to the
                                                                     best of our ability to the customer.My family, es-
                                                                     pecially my mother, loves coffee a lot. They are
                                                                     proud at the fact that I am a barista. They often
                                                                     watch my competitions and praise about my per-
                                                                     formance to my friends . My friends act a similar
                                                                     way. They tell their family and friends to come find
                                                                     me at Cupping Room where they can enjoy a cup
                                                                     of coffee tailored especially to them. Those custom-
                                                                     ers who come more often soon become friends -
                                                                     starting with the hellos and how are you to sharing
                                                                     about how their day is and their opinion on coffee.
                                                                     Whenever I compete, I would invite them to my
                                                                     rehearsals and ask them for feedback. Those friends
                                                                     have supported me throughout my coffee career.

                  I believe, being a barista makes me happy
              everyday! When I am standing behind the bar, I               Champion of 2017 WBC China Trials
              am open to share my knowledge with other people
              and I feel I achieved something! Barista is a job for
              people who like to think. Also a barista carries the
              responsibility to help spreading coffee culture,
              since the barista is the first person responsible for
              presenting a nice cup of coffee to a customer. My
              parents are super proud of me becoming the best
              barista in china, after I won 2017 WBC China Tri-
              als, it was a big step in my career and my parents
              know this. They know how hard I worked and what
              I have given to where I am standing now. At first,
              my friends thought being a barista is very cool
              because they could get as many free coffee as they
              want. But then, they started to take serious interest
              in this career: they think being a barista is not as
              easy as customers might think by just making and
              selling coffee, each step is crucial, if you mess up
              once, bad result will come out immediately. So they
              can see that each cup of coffee doesn’t just come
              out randomly, it includes every barista’s hard work.
