For example, the famous Blue Bottle has its own ways of being successful,
one of them is because of their vivid visual impressions. Using white as its basic
color, mixing with a modern look of metallic grey and transparent glass texture
and putting color blue as its finishing touch – all together it makes Blue Bottle a
tidy, simple and modern-looking place. The VI of the inside is made by combining
blue and white and making customers feel light inside of the coffee shop. Their
success in visual impression makes the Blue Bottle an example of iconic style.

② Japanese Style

Japanese style is considered to have a small space with built-in wooden ele-
ments, warm colors and simple outlines. Comparing to also simple normcore,
Japanese style represents a simple lifestyle. It is usually a comfortable and relax-
ing space that uses warm lighting and wooden furniture. Japanese style is suitable
for slow tempo cafés that also look for quality coffee. When in a space that styled
according to Japanese tradition, people can focus easily on the taste of their cof-
fee, work and conversations with friends.

As it originates from high-ceiling re-
modeled warehouses and old garages, this
design intentionally exposes industrial
constructions’ elements, like plain brick
walls, bold metal pipes and wires, ceilings
with no design, etc. Colors of the indus-
trial design highlight the original colors of
the materials. Lighting is not very bright.
Interior may not look very exquisite; in
fact it represents a much freer lifestyle.
Lofts used to be used mainly as working
studios for artists and designers, but now
more and more cafes decide to open in lofts

as their design is much more flexible and
can be adjust to any café’s style creating
something unique.
SIGHT ④ Garden Style

Garden is by its name something to-
tally different from the business environ-
ment. Garden style uses big amount of ④
wooden elements, plants and natural colors,
all of it gives people a warm feeling of hom-
eyness. The garden style is suitable for
parties after work, sleepy weekends and also
for people who want to be temporarily away
from their problems. When you are in a
garden style café, the things around you will
naturally slow down, people will watch and
cherish their moments.
