Addicted2Caffeine is located on the West side of the
Danube river, which is called Buda. This part of the city
is greener, more residential, and harder to navigate by
public transportation, but you can always walk here from
the city centre or take a famous yellow tram number 49.
The place was opened 2 years ago and since then it
has been serving great coffee for this part of the city. The
team gets their beans from German roasters, The Barn,
also Germany’s sustainable ChariTea and Lemonaid are
also to be found here and the profit from these drinks
partly goes to charity. Moreover, The Barn team does cup-
pings here from time to time, and it seems like the whole
area gives you this downtown Berlin vibe.
Filter coffee and espresso tonic, that we ordered,
refreshed us after a long walk. Addicted2Caffeine also
provides very good looking desserts like chocolate soufflé,
pies and some other pastry. Sitting in an open space full
of light and enjoying your cold brew or espresso tonic can
be a great break during hot summer week.

Opened in 2012, the café in Arany János Street is a
very friendly place, where baristas not just serving you
a cup of coffee, but also are open to chat and give you
all the information you need about the cup you ordered.
The man behind this friendly atmosphere and great cof-
fee is Tibor Varady, who placed 6th in the World
Brewers Cup and 3rd in the World AeroPress Cham-
pionship in 2013. They sell around 500 cups per day
and work mainly with local Hungarian roasters, like
Casino Mocca, and the selection includes espresso, cor-
tado, flat white, cappuccino and filter coffee, which is
brewed somewhat slower and is best drunk without milk
and sugar.
The space itself feels antique and modern at the
same time as 200-year-old brick white ceiling looks
perfect with trendy wooden furniture and stainless steel
espresso machine. Espresso Embassy also provides deli-
cious pastry and we recommend to try chocolate chip
cookies with cold brew.
