“WE PRINT GOOD STUFF ABOUT COFFEE.” FROM THE EDITORS

Welcome to another issue of our magazine, this time dedicated to the theme of “Dan Yuán”. It’s a
Chinese concept describing a relatively separate part of the whole. We chose this concept as it celebrates
how individual contributions, each an essential part of a greater whole, come together to create a power-
           ful, interconnected tapestry.
Inspired by this theme, our cover story shines a spotlight on the trailblazers of the coffee industry.
This feature explores the significant impact of coffee professionals who are driving transformative change,
encouraging readers to reflect on their choices and support initiatives that prioritize sustainability and
           social responsibility.
Our origin exploration takes us to Rwanda, where we delve into the stories of coffee producers through
the lens of “The Real Cost of Coffee” documentary. Our columnist examines the socioeconomic realities faced
by these producers and how Rwanda’s rich history and culture are deeply intertwined with coffee.
In the design section, we embark on a captivating journey to El Fant, a Helsinki café that merges
cultural vibrancy with heartfelt hospitality. With the help of Yatofu design studio, the café and its found-
ers are starting a new life there.
Our opinion columnists provide thought-provoking insights into the transformative power
of labor movements within the coffee industry, as well as the importance of sustainability in and
           through coffee festivals.
