The Portafilter Can Handle It
In the realm of industrial design, ingenuity meets craftsmanship. With a deft touch
and a creative mind, one can repurpose the ordinary into the extraordinary. If you
are a skilled artisan or a passionate DIY enthusiast, you could turn a portafilter into
a door handle. With precise measurements and careful manipulation, you can
transform the utilitarian object into a striking piece of functional art. This fusion of
form and function exemplifies the essence of industrial design, where everyday
items take on new life and elevate the aesthetic of living spaces with their unique
charm and character.
The V60 Manhattan Cocktail
Why not create a unique twist on the classic Manhattan cocktail using a V60?
Here’s a recipe to try!
1. Prepare your V60 by placing a filter in the dripper and rinsing it with hot water
to remove any paper taste.
2. Measure out 15g of your favorite coffee beans and grind them to a medi-
um-coarse consistency.
3. In a mixing glass or cocktail shaker, combine 1 oz of sweet vermouth, 2 oz of rye
whiskey, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
4. Place the ground coffee into the rinsed V60 filter and set it over a cocktail glass.
5. Slowly pour the cocktail mixture over the coffee grounds in the V60.
6. Once all the liquid has passed through the coffee grounds, discard them and give
the cocktail a gentle stir.
7. Serve your Manhattan cocktail with a twist of lemon or orange peel for added
flavor and aroma. Enjoy!
