                                                  COVID-19 in the beverage industry?
                                                  What changes should operators make?
                           Food safety is under a spotlight due to COVID-19 and ice is definitely a crit-
                           ical point of contaminaton. The two ways to overcome the problem are auto-
                           matic dosing of ice (no scooping) or continuous sanitation of ice in the bin.
                           Scotsman is offerting both solution, with the introduction of XSafe as a
                           standard feature on all scotsman range.


                           Comparing the other ice-maker machine , what advantage of SCOTS-
                           MAN’s product , especially drink production health and safety prob-
                           lem considered ?
                           XSafe is definitely a straordinary innovation, as through a totally natural
                           process, it’s constantly cleaning the food zone of the ice maker, killing all
                           kind of viruses, bacteria, mold, yeast. XSafe automatically operates behind
                           the scenes 24/365 to keep equipment clean and safe. No chemicals are used
                           and the ice remain tasteless, as it should be.

                           In the past few year , the food equipment played more attention on
                           intelligent technology , what do you see this trend in SCOTSMAN’s
                           future development ?
                           We are currenlty developing a completely new electronic platform for our range
                           the will have intelligent technology and iot capability. It will improve strongly
                           the way to “talk” with the machine, keeping under control the efficient and safe
                           working of the ice maker.

                           Which type of beverage shops / customers would you recommend
                           choosing an XSafe system?And why ?
                           XSafe will be a standard feature on our rage, and any operator will benefit from
                           this extremely innovative feature. Ice will be safer than ever, and the cleaning
                           frequency of the ice maker can be reduced by at least 50%.

                           Could you please tell us more about SCOTSMAN’s future innovations
                           in ice health and safety?
                           We are going to increase the number of models with automatic dosing of
                           ice, which it’s another way to reduce at minimum the possibility of ice
                           contamnation. Anyway as traditonal ice makers with manual ice
                           scooping will not disappear, we will go on improving even more
                           our new XSafe feature just introduced.
