                    Southeast Asia:

                    Exploring Less Traditional Tea-Growing Countries

Although they have little international visibility, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Laos and Thailand are all home to age-old
endemic wild tea trees in their northern mountains. Each country has its own quality domestic market supply, and is
keen to reach out to Western consumers with high-end specialty teas. Seasoned tea writer, Barbara Dufrêne, investigates
tea production in and the efforts to increase exports by each of the four countries. By Barbara Dufrêne
