 Y  ou might believe that coffee culture is a newly imported concept from

 western civilization to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which liter-
 ally is not true. The local type of coffee beverage is known as  “Qah-
 wa”, or Arabic coffee, which can be traced back to the 15th century,
 and is maintaining an essential role in the lives of Emiratis. Like the UAE’s geo-
 graphical location, linking East and West, young generations of Emiratis are pour-
 ing new life into this traditional liquid, serving a taste of the WEAST.
