SCAJ World Specialty Coffee Conference and
Exhibition 2015

As the biggest coffee event in Asia focused exclusively on specialty coffee, the SCAJ
World Specialty Coffee Conference and Exhibition 2015 (SCAJ2015) was the 11th edition of the
annual exhibition which began in 2005. From raising awareness of specialty coffee and expanding
the industry in Japan, to increasing the exchange of information with coffee producing countries
around the world, among other activities, this exhibition fulfils an important role in the specialty
coffee industry.

As is the case every year, SCAJ2015 hosted various informative
seminars and cupping events which provided great opportunities for all
those who attended to learn about the latest trends in the world’s specialty
coffee industry. In accordance with the needs of people in the industry,
for the first time ever, seminars were held for individuals who aim to start
a coffee-related business, for owners of such newly founded businesses,
and for people who want to improve the way they promote and display
their coffee products. Five prestigious coffee competitions also took place,
including the Japan Barista Championship, which gave competitors the
chance to represent Japan at the next World Barista Championship in
Ireland in 2016. With so much to see and do, SCAJ2015 attracted a record
25, 689 visitors from around the world, a 6.4% increase on last year.
