                                                 Latte Art Throwdown - Singapore


                                                                               The team at Toby’s Estate Singapore re-
                                                                        cently organized a Halloween Latte Art Throwdown
                                                                        that received great reception from the local coffee
                                                                        community. The throwdown saw a participation
                                                                        of more than 60 baristas in the preliminary rounds
                                                                        from 5th to 15th October 2015.
                                                                               Eventually, only 32 baristas made it to the
                                                                        finals on the 27th of October. The art was decided
                                                                        based on a dice roll and was each panel of the dice
                                                                        contained a different art. Different vessels were also
                                                                        used for each round, beginning with a Piccolo Glass,
                                                                        Gibraltar Glass and finally, the Cappuccino Cup.
                                                                        The finals were also determined based on a best of
                                                                        3 rounds format.
                                                                               Some of the sponsors included Dankoff
                                                                        Coffee Specialist, Fresh & Natural, Cerebos, JAB
                                                                        Brewers, Coat of Arms Pitchers, Pies & Coffee,
                                                                        Bodum and Hospitality Essentials. Jervis Tan, the
                                                                        current Singapore Latte Art Champion from Kins-
                                                                        men emerged victorious in the end, proving that he
                                                                        has not taken a break from the industry ever since
                                                                        he competed in the World Circuit. Vanessa Caceres
                                                                        from Jimmy Monkey took second place and Iwan
                                                                        Setiawan, the Indonesia Latte Art Champion 2015
                                                                        from Common Grounds took third.
