Officially decided to work on coffee, Narin invested
in coffee processing machines. His first machine was a pulper,
and a small 5 kg roaster came soon after. The self-taught roaster
does everything from scratch and experimented on lots of
profiles until he found the best profile for his coffee. The 5
kg. roaster quickly became too small as the orders poured in.
“Before I bought a bigger roaster, I received a lot of support and
advices about roasting and coffee, as well as packaging and ma-
chineries, from the Center of Industrial Promotion. I also took
a trip to Chiangmai to learn the processes.”
Organic Farm
Narin and his wife work on the field from ground
preparation to planting and caring. “We do not use chemical
fertilizer, pesticide, and weed killer at all. We are GAP (Good
Agricultural Practice) certified.” As proof, Sgt. Narin Coffee
farm won the regional GAP competition abnd his farm came
third in the national stage in 2015.
From great feedback, Narin expanded his farm from 2 Visitors may come without any coffee knowledge, but

want to pass our love and happiness forward. We don’t do it
because we have to or forced to, and the result is happiness and
it shows in the field. The field is strong and sustainable, and the
trees age with us as we grow old together,” Narin expressed his
love for the farm. With love and care, Narin is able to create a
strong, sustainable farm which will last for generations to come.
Looking at the big picture, Narin believes Thai coffee industry
still have a lot of rooms to grow as it has the quality to do so.
“However, the main concern is quality control. We know we
have the quality, but how do we preserve that quality from seed
to cup. I believe every coffee professional have the knowledge,
but how we execute that knowledge and control the quality is
still a concern.”
Next time you are in Khao Kor, give Sgt. Narin Coffee
farm a visit. See what love and organic farming can achieve.
Even if you have the best fertilizer and lots of labour, you won’t
be able to beat a family with love and care. It’s hard to believe
this city police officer did not have any agriculture experience
prior coming to Khao Kor. It’s amazing how he’s able to develop
one of the most renowned farms in Khao Kor. Narin loves to
share his experience, and it reflects in his last statement. “If
you ask a question and I have the answer, I would be more than
happy to share the knowledge. If I don’t, I will look for the an-
swer and share it with you.”
