Get Quality Espresso
on the Go With Bezzera
Bezzera and the history of the Espresso are in-
separable in people’s minds. The brand is considered
to be one of the first pioneers of the Espresso Machine.
But how did they do it?
It was 1901, when Luigi Bezzera patented the
first single-serve espresso machine in Italy. This re-
solved the slow coffee brewing issue during Italy’s
industrial revolution. Back then, workers seemed to
work more efficiently and productively after their
coffee break.
Since then, Bezzera consistently improved coffee
production with an artisan approach, which helped it
transformed from a small artisan business to a limited
company. It is now a fourth generation family business.
Luigi’s son, Giuseppe Bezzera, was the first suc-
cessor to the company in 1922 when the brand was
going through a hard time amid war and coffee em-
bargo policy. His first machine with an evocative name,
“Lilliput”, was born in the early 1930s, and the com-
pany has kept the tradition of manufacturing coffee
machines to this day.
Facing the dilemma of of a saturated local market,
Luigi’s offspring, Guido Bezzera brought the company
operations offshore in 1961. Iran and Portugal were
the initially new “virgin” territories. “Res-Nova”, his
first machine, is a manifesto to his resilience as a
businessman. Then, the fourth generation of the Bez-
zera family, Luca Bezzera opened up to Asian markets
with the distribution of HORECA products in 2001.
Bezzera’s first home espresso machines was also born
at that time.
In 2020, the Victoria model was launched, a
design icon in the world of speciality coffee machines.
Not only did Bezzera bring innovative machines
to the coffee industry, Rosita Cardano Bezzera, made
a positive impact on changing the role of women in
business from the day she took office.
Bezzera is born to be a change-maker and the sto-
ry continues.
