Walking towards Shinjuku from Streamer Coffee Company,
we arrived at our last café for today. The Roastery by Nozy Coffee
is actually a roaster with a huge oval coffee bar in the center.
The shop offers 2 different single origin coffees each day for
you to try. The day we visited we were given a choice between
Brazilian and Costa Rican coffee beans which can be brewed in
3 styles, Espresso, Americano, and Cafe Latte, and come with a
tasting note. We ordered an espresso from Costa Rican beans
and a café latte from the Brazilian beans, and wait at the brew
bar where 2 Synesso espresso machines sit. The Roastery by
Nozy Coffee serves espresso differently in a tall clear glass
accompanied by a glass of sparkling water to cleanse your palates,
while the latte is simple and delicious. At the back of the shop
is a large Probat coffee roasting machine and different type of
coffee beans for sale on a shelf. The barista was very friendly
and full of smiles. I particularly love the industrial design and
the central bar where every step of coffee brewing can be easily
observed from anywhere in the shop.
Having tasted great coffee and experienced Tokyo coffee
culture, we didn’t just gain a new perspective on the coffee
community, but it also a great inspiration for us to take home
and work harder!
Asama Wichaidit (Mook), the owner of Asama café, Chiang
Mai, was an ordinary coffee lover who loved to hangout in a
café with her favourite book. Her passion in coffee brewed
steadily over time and, before she knew it, she was already
in too deep. She travels around Thailand and the world to
find inspirations and it has earned her the position of
second runner - up in 2011 NTBC, as well as a judge of NTBC,
NTLAC, and Myanmar National Barista Championship.
