The World Barista Championship is the preeminent international coffee competition produced annually by WCE. The competition focuses on promoting excellence in coffee, advancing the barista profession, and engaging a worldwide audience with an annual championship event that serves as the culmination of local and regional events around the globe.

The World Brewers Cup competition highlights the craft of filter coffee brewing by hand, promoting manual coffee brewing and service excellence. Both competitions involve thrilling, time-restricted performances by the baristas in front of judges and a packed audience.

Every year the seven World Coffee Championships head to different cities across the globe, going to the Specialty Coffee Expo, World of Coffee, and other trade shows which are chosen through a solicitation and vetting process designed to evaluate level of community interest, host preparation and support, and suitability under the Events Site Criteria framework. These championships happen thanks to incredible amounts of hard work, leadership, and support from volunteers, sponsors, and community members across the globe, and we are excited to see you all in Melbourne.
